RULES
Most games in England are played according to the World Lacrosse Rules in force at the relevant time, subject to a few modifications. Below you can find links to the current World Lacrosse Rules, a Memorandum issued by World Lacrosse which amends certain provisions in the rule book, and the current list of approved sticks for the women’s and girls’ game.
The main modifications to those Rules in England are (1) we do not automatically check the stick of a goal scorer after every goal and (2) we generally do not have the luxury of timers and scorers, so have to adapt any provisions relating to them in the light of what is feasible in a particular situation. For example, if there is no timer there will be no horn to indicate the end of a quarter; the umpire will be responsible for timing the quarter and will blow the whistle to end it. It is generally not practical to expect the umpire also to stop the clock in the last 30 seconds etc.
